The round was led by Helena, with participation by One Small Planet, Regeneration.VC, At One Ventures, and SoundWaves.
Cruz Foam up-cycles shellfish waste streams into a certified compostable, cost-competitive Styrofoam™ alternative compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure. It produces regenerative, earth-digestible protective packaging foam and other eco-friendly solutions that offer a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based products.
Cruz was founded in Santa Cruz, CA by a team of top minds in materials science and bioengineering with deep sector expertise and a dedication to deliver mission impact – addressing ongoing environmental degradation in their backyard (ocean plastic & packaging pollution).
The Goodwin team was led by Andrew Sparks, Dave Brekke, Chris Garcia, Carson Williams, Kelly Carson, Eliza Chute, Cristina Provencio, Rick Ballard, Jinny Kim, Cisco Palao-Ricketts, Kelsey Lemaster, and Drew Schaffer.
