Goodwin’s expanded Paris office is set in an 18th century townhouse in the heart of the city’s historic 8th arrondissement
Paris, France – April 19, 2017 – Goodwin, a leading Global 50 law firm, announced today the relocation of its Paris office to a new space at 12 rue d’Astorg in the heart of the city’s historic 8th arrondissement. The state-of-the-art office houses Goodwin’s growing team of nearly 60 Paris-based lawyers and professional staff.
Set in a hôtel particulier – an 18th century grand townhouse – the expanded Paris office occupies the entire building, which spans 18,300 square feet across seven floors, and enjoys an adjacent 7,500 square feet of private garden.
“Following Goodwin’s launch in Paris last summer with about 20 lawyers, French and international clients’ robust demand for our counsel has led us to more than double the size of our team over the past six months,” said Maxence Bloch, Chair of Goodwin’s Paris office. “Our move to 12 rue d’Astorg is a validation that our strategy – to provide a best-in-class French M&A, private equity and other alternative assets platform that complements Goodwin’s strong offering across the U.S., the U.K., Europe, and Asia – is working. We look forward to hosting our current and future clients at our beautiful new office.”
Goodwin’s Paris office opened in July 2016, with Maxence Bloch, Jérôme Jouhanneaud, Thomas Maitrejean and William Robert as partners, along with counsel and associates. The team specializes in mergers and acquisitions, in particular LBOs, private equity and “public to private” transactions for private placement funds, both French and international.
They were joined in November 2016 by a market-leading acquisition and corporate finance team, led by partners Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux. In January 2017, partner Marie-Laure Bruneel joined the team to lead the tax practice, and partner Arnaud David established the office’s private investment funds offering.
