Goodwin is stocking up on IP talent in New York to kick off the year, adding two intellectual property partners to help grow its core practices in life sciences and technology. Dr. Theodoros Konstantakopoulos, who was of counsel at New York IP boutique Desmarais, and Carl Morales, who was a partner at Fenwick & West, joined Goodwin on Monday, the firm said. Goodwin, which has over 150 IP attorneys and patent agents across offices, sees its IP practices as a vital link in the business chain between the startup and mature business models. Mitchell Bloom, the global chair of the life sciences practice at Goodwin, said the firm’s interest in growing its IP capability, both from a transactions and litigation standpoint, is paramount to the firm’s desire to work with its clients through their entire business cycle.
