In California state court last week, Complex Litigation and Dispute partners Brett Schuman, Jennifer Fisher and their team at Goodwin added an additional $33 million in punitive damages to the $11.3 million breach of contract trial win they achieved in July for shareholders of Nangate. A Santa Clara County Superior Court jury awarded $17 million in punitive damages against semiconductor software company Silvaco Group Inc. related to fraud claims in the long-running earn-out payment dispute. Jurors also hit Silvaco chairperson Kathy Pesic with $6 million in punitives, as well as $10 million against former board member Iliya Pesic. The Goodwin team also included Jesse Cheng, Megan Bettles, Faraz Behnamjou, Michaela Ogden and paralegal Benjamin Gee.
