Goodwin lawyers Tevia Pollard and Nathan Hagler have been announced as Law360 Rising Stars for 2023. Pollard was selected in the M&A category and Hagler was selected in the Technology category. Winners were chosen based on their recent achievements, overall body of work, and potential for future success in their respective disciplines.
Pollard is a partner in Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences groups, where she specializes in representing public companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, financings, corporate governance, and securities law compliance. She was elevated to partner in October 2022, and has already worked on numerous industry-altering M&A transactions during her tenure at the firm, including Citrix Systems’ $16.5 billion acquisition by affiliates of Vista Equity Partners and Evergreen Coast Capital.
In addition to her practice, Pollard is one of the founding members of Goodwin’s Black Anti-Racism Task Force, which is comprised of Goodwin’s senior management and Black leaders, working to address anti-Black racism in the legal industry and in Goodwin’s communities. She is also a member of Goodwin’s Boston Hiring Committee and the Technology practice’s Attorney Development Committee, which provides mentorship and training to ascending Technology lawyers.
Hagler is a partner in Goodwin’s Technology Companies group and Tech M&A practice and he is the Business Law Office Leader in the firm’s San Francisco office. He has extensive transactional experience, primarily focused on advising private and public companies and investors on M&A transactions, including Deliverr in its sale to Shopify for $2.1 billion. Hagler also represents clients throughout the entire corporate life cycle, including pre-incorporation planning, general corporate representation and counseling, and venture capital financings.
Beyond his practice, Hagler is often invited to speak at conferences hosted by legal community organizations or venture capital firms for their portfolio companies, on topics such as how Boards, management, and in-house counsel should prepare themselves for exit transactions. He has previously been recognized by Daily Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, which honors the elite young lawyers in California.
