Goodwin is pleased to announce its selection as the outstanding U.S. private equity law firm for 2017 at the 9th annual Americas M&A Atlas Awards Gala in New York City, held earlier this month.
The firm’s Private Equity team was also recognized by M&A Atlas for its work on the small markets cross border M&A deal of the year, Suprajit Engineering’s acquisition of Wescon Controls from Nova Capital, as well as M&A Atlas’ large market U.S. private equity deal of the year, Webster Capital’s sale of Epic Health Services to Bain Capital.
Goodwin’s Private Equity practice was cited for its “highly client focused service,” as part of what some refer to as “the Goodwin experience.” Clients describe Goodwin’s work as “market savvy and financially literate.” Clients compliment the team as being “dedicated, solutions-oriented,” and “passionate yet commercial and pragmatic.” Significantly, Goodwin’s Private Equity group benefits from the firm’s highly collaborative culture and unique combination of a high-end Private Equity practice and dominant practices in the tech/growth company and real estate sectors, which afford its clients and friends access to the firm’s robust and broad network of relationships.
Goodwin has long been ranked among the top private equity practices in the U.S. But what especially influenced Global M&A Network’s decision to name Goodwin as U.S. private equity law firm of the year was the firm’s leading position in the large and important middle market sector. Also notable in the selection process were the firm’s strength in market sectors that are important to the private equity industry – tech, life sciences, health care, financial services, consumer, and business services, among others – coupled with the notable expansion of Goodwin’s Private Equity practice in Europe and Asia for both deal and fund work and an overall rate of growth that far outpaces the market.
Earlier this year, the firm and its Private Equity practice further expanded internationally, adding partners on the East and West Coasts of the U.S., appointing six partners in London, and recently adding two partners in its respected Asia Pacific practice based in Hong Kong. In 2016, with the addition of six partners, the firm launched its private equity practice in Paris to leverage and compliment the success of the firm’s U.S. practice.
The M&A Atlas Awards, produced by Global M&A Network, recognizes best-value creating deals, top dealmakers, outstanding firms and illustrious leaders from the global merger and acquisition community.
