Goodwin Procter’s Intellectual Property Group and Appellate Litigation Group today were named “Practice Groups of the Year” by Law360. The award recognizes firms that succeeded for their clients in noteworthy litigations during the year, with particular focus on the size, complexity and significance of the work.
Goodwin’s intellectual property and appellate specialists worked together on two victories before the U.S. Supreme Court and seven IP-related Federal Circuit wins in 2015. In addition, Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Practice also secured several district court trial wins, wins at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and a collection of other dispositions favorable for our clients.
“We are proud of the success of our IP practice this year, and delighted to be recognized by Law360 for the second consecutive year,” said Douglas Kline, chair of Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Practice.
In addition to its achievements in conjunction with intellectual property matters, Goodwin’s Appellate Practice had a string of wins for clients in the financial services and life sciences sectors, related to consumer lending, FDA, ERISA, and products liability matters.
Willy Jay, co-chair of Goodwin’s Appellate Practice, added, “We are happy to be recognized by Law360 for the important wins we have achieved on behalf of our clients, both at the U.S. Supreme Court and in appellate courts across the country.”
