Goodwin Procter attorneys recently advised SkinnyPop Popcorn in its acquisition of Paqui Tortillas. Paqui will become a sibling brand to SkinnyPop in the “better-for-you” family of snack food brands. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2010 and based in Skokie Ill., SkinnyPop produces a variety of healthy popcorn products, made without GMOs, gluten or preservatives. SkinnyPop products are sold throughout the United States.
Based in Austin, Texas, Paqui sells tortillas and tortilla chips that are made from high-quality ingredients. Paqui brand tortillas and tortilla chips are currently sold regionally in Kroger and Whole Foods.
The Goodwin team advising SkinnyPop was led by Jon Herzog and senior associate Chris Wilson, and included associates Peter Hanoian and Brian McNeil.
