David Sikes is a partner in Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences group. David focuses his practice on the representation of technology and life sciences clients. As an active and engaged participant in the Silicon Valley legal community, he has a deep understanding of the legal issues facing cutting-edge companies and their investors and acquirors.

David assists early-stage issuers with formation, governance and financing; counsels venture capital funds and corporate venture capital arms with venture capital financings; and represents acquirors and sellers in a variety of M&A transactions. He is a member of Goodwin’s Corporate Transparency Act Working Group.

David is a member, and previously served as the co-chair, of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association.

Prior to joining Goodwin, David was a partner at Jones Day, where he advised clients in venture capital transactions, general corporate representation and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he was an associate at Heller Ehrman and Milbank.

Professional Activities

David is a member, and previously served as the co-chair, of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association, is a member of the board of directors of the Stern Grove Festival Association, and is a member of the drafting committee (convertible notes) for the Angel Capital Association. He is a member of Goodwin’s Corporate Transparency Act Working Group.
