Alex Fisher is a partner in Goodwin’s Employment practice. He advises clients on issues in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law. He also regularly counsels clients on the employment law aspects of corporate disposals and acquisitions.
Recognized by Legal 500 UK as a “truly excellent – team spirited and razor sharp lawyer,” Alex represents a variety of clients across a wide range of sectors. His extensive experience includes advising on large and small scale restructuring and redundancy processes, running investigations into employee complaints and whistleblowing allegations, executive exits and other employee dismissals, litigation in the Employment Tribunal and High Court, and restrictive covenant and confidentiality breach enforcement action. He has particular experience advising clients on employment aspects of setting up and establishing businesses in the UK and leading on employment issues on corporate transactions including TUPE and multi-jurisdictional share and asset transactions.

- Hg Capital in connection with IRIS Software Group’s intent to acquire Dext Software Ltd.
- Kynos Therapeutics Limited on its sale to Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH
- BauMont on majority stake acquisition by M&G and final closing of BauMont Real Estate Fund II
- GoMetro on its £9 million Series A financing round led by Zenobē Energy
- Miro in its acquisition of the visual collaboration platform, Freehand, from InVision
- Energy Impact Partners in its £30 million investment in myenergi Group Ltd.
- Defending a client in the cryptocurrency sector in relation to injunction proceedings
- Advising a large multi-jurisdictional corporation on the enforceability of employment terms across eleven different jurisdictions
- Advising multiple clients on the UK aspects of global RIF processes
- Carrying out an investigation for a client in the pharmaceutical sector relating to allegations made against the CEO
- Advising a client on its strategy and defense against an Employment Tribunal claim involving allegations of whistleblowing and discrimination and questions of territorial jurisdiction and employment status
- Advising a US technology company client on the enforceability of restrictive covenant arrangements
- Advising on the UK employment aspects involved with the sale of a cloud-based storage technology provider
- Advising a multi-jurisdictional medical technology company client on the termination of an executive
- Advising on employment issues for multiple start up businesses in the tech sector
- Advising a client in the biomedical sector on changes to its leadership team
- Advising on a large-scale restructuring and redundancy project involving multi-site redundancy consultation
- Carrying out an investigation for a client in the renewables energy sector in relation to allegations of bullying and cultural issues in the workplace
- Advising multiple clients on the set-up and scale-up of operations and workforces in the UK
- Carrying out an investigation into allegations of discrimination for a client in the sport sector*
