The Goodwin Private Investment Funds team advised Intermediate Capital Group on the structuring and fundraising of its eighth European Corporate fund. The Fund held a final close with a total fund size of €8.1 billion, materially in excess of the target of €7.0 billion and exceeding its hard cap, as well as representing a 90% increase in client capital compared to its predecessor vintage, Europe VII.
European Corporate is one of ICG’s flagship strategies, providing flexible capital solutions to companies across Europe. With a 33-year track record, the strategy has invested over €27 billion across more than 400 transactions.
The final closing follows the successful fundraise of ICG’s debut infrastructure fund, ICG Infrastructure Equity I which had its final closing in March this year. The Fund, which Goodwin also advised ICG on, reached total commitments of €1.5 billion, surpassing its target of €1 billion due to strong demand from a global client base and attracted commitments from over 40 clients across Europe, the UK, Australia, the US and Canada. The Goodwin team also assisted ICG on the structuring and arrangements of a couple of co-investments for the infrastructure strategy.
