Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Sara Werner joined the firm's Private Investment Funds practice as a partner, resident in the New York office.

"Sara's significant experience advising venture funds and emerging growth companies is invaluable to our clients and adds bench strength to our team in New York and globally."
Werner advises venture capital and other private equity funds, as well as the emerging and established companies in which they invest. She represents investment funds in their formation, operation, and investment transactions. She regularly counsels fund managers on fund structures, market terms, and negotiations with limited partners. Werner also works with fund clients on their investments in and dispositions of portfolio company securities.
Goodwin's approximately 200-lawyer Private Investment Funds practice supports over 500 investment managers raising capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. In the past 18 months, the practice closed more than 60 funds totaling over $200 billion in raised capital. The firm was recently named the top law firm for fund formation by Law360, the Legal 500 UK Awards, IJ Global, and SuperReturn Awards.
