Cusaj D. Thomas

Cusaj Thomas is an associate in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Private Equity group. Cusaj's practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, the representation of portfolio companies, early-stage technology and life science companies and search fund entrepreneurs, and other general corporate matters in a broad range of industries. He joined Goodwin as a law clerk in 2018 and as an associate in 2019.

Cusaj’s representative experience includes advising:

• Cano Health LLC on its definitive merger agreement with special purpose acquisition company Jaws Acquisition Corp.
• Gandeeva in its $40 million Series A financing
• Biocon Biologics Ltd. on its definitive agreement to acquire Viatris Inc.’s global biosimilars business
• York Capital Management on its definitive agreement to acquire Comprehensive Rehab Consultants and affiliates
• 1686 Partners on its investment in MSCHF Product Studio Inc.

Cusaj was a law clerk in Goodwin’s Private Equity group in 2018-2019 and a summer associate in 2017.

He interned with PepsiCo in its Frito-Lay headquarters during the summer of 2018, focusing on strategic finance.
