Virginie Leroy is a partner in Goodwin’s Real Estate Industry group and Private Investment Funds practice.
She advises asset managers, fund initiators in the creation, the structuring, the distribution, the marketing, and the management of various investment funds such as Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs), Investment companies in risk capital (SICARs), and non-regulated investment vehicles (RAIFs), including the Partnership (SCSp and SCS).
She has a particular focus on ESG, Real Estate, and matters related to Anglo-Saxon jurisdictions and has a well-rounded perspective on the fund life cycle, having worked for a magic circle law firm, a top-tier third-party fund management company, and her current role. Her 360-degree view of the fund life cycle make her an invaluable asset to her clients.
Virginie helps corporate and institutional clients to choose the most suitable investment fund structures and determines their key characteristics.
She also provides legal advice and support on matters related to marketing, AIFM regulation and ESG to investment fund managers, local service providers such as AIFM, fund administrators or depositaries.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Virginie was a partner and co-head of the Investment Management department at AKD in Luxembourg.
Professional Activities
Virginie Leroy is actively involved in the European Marketing Rulesworking group, the PE & VC working group, and the RE working group of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI); and the working group Investment Firms of the The Luxembourg Bankers' Association (ABBL).
