An experienced commercial litigator, Allison has represented financial institutions, lenders, and loan servicers in state and federal court as well as before the CFPB and state regulators, for more than a decade.

Experience

Allison is an experienced member of the Consumer Financial Services litigation practice, concentrating her practice on defending clients in class and individual suits as well as enforcement actions and government investigations involving forward and reverse mortgage loans, credit cards, auto finance, among other consumer products. Allison is a trusted adviser to clients, helping clients achieve their legal, and business objectives. Allison routinely provides compliance advice on state and federal regulations governing the financial services industry, including RESPA, TILA, EFTA, UDAP/UDAAP and FDCPA. As the use of artificial intelligence in the financial services industry comes under scrutiny by regulators, Allison has been at the forefront advising clients on the potential risks related to automation and AI and how to best mitigate them.

Professional Activities

Allison is a member of the Mortgage Foreclosure Task Force of the New York City Bar Association.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Allison worked for another large international law firm, and prior to that she worked as legal counsel for the Nassau County Department of Housing and Homeless Services, an administrative agency that received a sizable grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for homelessness prevention services. As part of her work, Allison worked closely with HUD to develop and implement best practices for disbursement and administration of the grant, which were used as models for other agencies.
