Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Carl Metzger has been named Chair of the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. In this role, Carl will oversee the firm’s litigation strategy, the department’s continued growth, and client relations. He succeeds Joanne Gray, who completed her term at the end of September 2024.

Carl joined the firm at the beginning of 2005 as partner in the Complex Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Over his tenure, he has served in several leadership roles, including as member of the Executive Committee, Chair of Risk Management and Insurance Practice, and Chair of the Partnership Committee.
Throughout his career, Carl has played leading roles in numerous professional and civic organizations, and he currently is on the Board of Advisors for Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
