Mary O’Carroll left contract lifecycle management company Ironclad to join Goodwin as its new chief operating officer earlier in August. While Goodwin won’t be O’Carroll’s first stint at a law firm, a lot has changed in the 16 years since. "I had worked in a firm before. I know how difficult it is to enact change, and, you know, change the mindset of firms and the partners. So I was pretty cautious about the decision. And as I met the leadership team and the partnership here at Goodwin, I was really, really attracted to the idea that there is a future-thinking mindset here. … And I find it a really, really unique culture and mindset when it comes to a law firm. … I almost feel like a kid in a candy store, like all the things that I’ve been excited to work on for the last couple decades are things that they have already been thinking about and really wanted a leader to come in and help lead some of those things," O'Carroll said.
