Investors considering converting office buildings to a residential use are increasingly seeking more assistance from and collaboration with governments, told Diana Brummer, co-chair of Real Estate in a recent interview with Law360. Investors are seeking tax incentives and help to get past zoning restrictions as they contemplate such adaptive reuse projects. Conversion of office space to residential is one of the many ideas developers have had, given the sudden surplus of office space since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
