DeMario Carswell, a senior associate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution, ERISA Litigation, and Financial Services Litigation practices, was selected again to serve on The ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) Association’s Advisory Committee on Fiduciary Issues.
The ESOP Association is the world’s largest employee ownership advocacy organization that has successfully represented the interests of millions of Employee Owners and their companies in Washington, DC and state capitols across the nation for over 40 years. Members of The ESOP Association’s Advisory Committee on Fiduciary Issues play a vital role in helping ESOP fiduciaries understand and fulfill their legal, financial, and ethical obligations.
At Goodwin, DeMario counsels and represents fiduciaries, plan sponsors, benefit plan service providers, and trustees in all phases of complex ERISA litigation and ERISA compliance, in connection with employer-sponsored benefit plans, including defined contribution plans, ESOPs, insurance products, and other benefit plans. DeMario also provides guidance to fiduciaries as to their fiduciary responsibilities and obligations under ERISA. He advises clients in proactively developing litigation risk mitigation strategies for ERISA benefit plans and their service providers.
