Goodwin is continuing to build its dispute resolution practice in Europe with the hire of specialist Sarah McAtominey as a partner in London, after first launching its contentious offering in the U.K. three years ago. Oliver Glynn-Jones, the partner who launched Goodwin's Litigation practice in the U.K when he joined in 2020, told Law360 on Friday that McAtominey's arrival will help the firm build a substantive practice in Europe. "I joined Goodwin in May 2020 as the first contentious lawyer in Europe and the mandate was not just for me to be a litigator but to build a contentious practice in London and Europe," Glynn-Jones told Law360. McAtominey said that she enjoys helping clients work through strategically significant and business-critical disputes. "You are helping clients through really difficult situations for either them personally or their business," McAtominey said. "And that really lets you build relationships and help them navigate things that are business critical."
