The Goodwin Technology team advised Benchmark Capital Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners in the context of the $680 million Series B financing round of Sorare, a NFT gaming platform for global football fans.
The financing round was led by Softbank and is the largest financing rounds of the French Tech so far.
Founded in 2018, Sorare is a global fantasy football (read “soccer” for US speakers) game where managers can trade official digital collectibles, aiming to make crypto fun and accessible to all through fantasy football. Based in Paris, Sorare provides a soccer team management game with digital non-fungible token (“NFT”) cards based on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-721) that fans can collect and trade.
Benchmark Capital Partners, one of the leading venture capital investors, focuses its investments on high-potential startups such as Sorare.
Bessemer Venture Partners is a venture capital firm based in California. The firm seeks investments in seed and early-stage companies.
The Goodwin team was led by Thomas Dupont-Sentilles and included Yoann Labbé, Brad Weber and David Concannon.
