The London Private Investment Funds team advised Glennmont Partners on the successful closing of its Fund III, which has raised €850 million to invest in clean energy infrastructure projects in Europe. It is the largest amount that has ever been raised for a green energy only fund with a pan-European mandate. Fund III exceeded its target size (originally €600 million) as a result of a high level of interest in sustainable energy among investors globally, and due to the demonstrated success in investment, operations and divestment in the assets of Funds I and II.
Glennmont Partners is one of Europe’s largest fund managers focusing exclusively on investment in clean energy infrastructure. They raise long-term capital to invest in alternative power generation projects, such as wind farms, biomass power stations, solar parks and small-scale hydro power plants.
The Goodwin team was led by partners Michael Halford, Alexandrine Armstrong-Cerfontaine and Laura Charkin and associates Oana Millich and Allison Walsh, with assistance from partners Janet Andolina and Simon Fulbrook, counsel Glynn Barwick and associate Eliza Reed.
