Anke Johann is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Finance practice, resident in the Munich office.

Anke has deep and broad experience in all aspects of banking and finance law. She advises German and international banks, financial institutions and private equity funds on structured finance transactions including the financing of real estate acquisitions and real estate developments as well as subordinated debt. Anke has a vast experience in financial restructurings and is an expert in Pfandbrief law. Her expertise advising on German, pan-European and US lending transactions involving private equity investors, debt funds and investment funds is well-aligned to the areas of client demand that are fueling Goodwin’s expansion in Germany.

Professional Experience

In the aftermath of the financial crisis Anke was responsible for the liquidation of the German, Austrian and Swiss operations of Babcock & Brown group. In addition, she advised FMS Wertmanagement, a German public institution founded in 2010 for the winding-up of the nationalized Hypo Real Estate Group, on the restructuring of defaulting loan engagements as well as on the sale of distressed loan portfolios to international investors.
