Tim Holahan is a partner in the firm’s Employment practice. He focuses on serving the firm’s technology, life sciences, private equity and venture capital clients, both as a counselor and a litigator.
Tim supports the firm’s transactional practice by advising on employment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions. This includes analyzing the impact of employment considerations on deal strategy and structure; drafting and negotiating relevant deal document provisions; and drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements, noncompetition agreements, separation agreements and other critical employment-related documents.
Tim also advises and advocates for clients in employment litigation in federal and state courts and administrative hearings, with a particular focus on restrictive covenant litigation and wage and hour litigation.
Experience
Tim counsels clients on a variety of employment matters, including noncompetition agreements and other restrictive covenants, worker classification, employee terminations, internal investigations, Affordable Care Act compliance, reductions in force, discrimination and anti-retaliation laws, leave laws, executive compensation and crafting effective workplace policies. Tim works with publicly traded clients, small businesses and startup companies, particularly in the areas of life sciences, technology, private equity and venture capital.

- York Private Equity in its strategic growth investment in APT Healthcare
- ModeX Therapeutics in its sale to OPKO Health for $300 million
- York Private Equity and Cennox in their acquisition of Mick’s Vault Works
- Human Care Systems in its sale to CareMetx
- Celtra Technologies in its majority investment from Symphony Technology Group
- EverTrue in its merger with ThankView
- Great Hill Partners in its acquisition of a controlling equity stake in Clearwave Parent, Inc. at an enterprise value of $300 million
