Marco Wong

Marco Wong is an associate in the firm’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, securities and shareholder litigation, antitrust litigation, and mass torts litigation. He joined Goodwin in 2021.

Civil Litigation:

• A real estate investment trust in an action against an asset manager alleging breach of fiduciary duty and gross negligence. The case is ongoing
• A healthcare software development company in a contractual dispute with a commercial counterparty. The case is ongoing
• Executives of a healthcare software development company in a breach of contract and tortious interference action. The case is ongoing
• A university in an employment discrimination and retaliation action alleging a violation of Title VII, Title IX, and other laws. The case is ongoing
• A crypto analytics firm in a defamation and deceptive business practices case, obtaining dismissal on a motion to dismiss
• An aerospace company in a contractual dispute with its suppliers, obtaining a settlement on favorable terms
• A cloud computing technology company in a securities class action alleging, among other things, a violation of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, obtaining dismissal with prejudice
• An alternative energy technology company in a securities class action alleging a violation of the Exchange Act, obtaining dismissal with prejudice
• A multinational financial services company in a securities class action alleging a violation of the Securities Act of 1933, obtaining a settlement on favorable terms
• A mortgage servicer in a class action alleging a violation of federal anti-kickback laws, obtaining full dismissal shortly before trial

Pro Bono:

• A client in an action against her landlord for violations of the Housing Maintenance Code. The case is ongoing
• A client charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice, obtaining a favorable plea bargain and sentence
• Juveniles sentenced to indeterminate life sentences with the possibility of parole in a lawsuit seeking to reform the parole hearing process in New York*
• A client in a Section 1983 lawsuit against the City of New York for failing to protect him from being assaulted by other inmates while he was incarcerated, obtaining a settlement on favorable terms*
• Multiple clients in their administrative appeals relating to the termination of their disability and unemployment benefits, obtaining reversals of those determinations*
• Co-authored several amicus curiae briefs related to the Prison Litigation Reform Act of 1996 and the Fourth Amendment in the US Supreme Court*

While attending law school, Marco served as a notes editor for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law and as an intern for the Honorable Debra A. Livingston of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
