Kahn R. Wiedis

Kahn Wiedis is an associate in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Private Equity group at Goodwin. Kahn’s practice is devoted primarily to mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He also represents public and private companies on transactions and other general corporate matters in a broad range of industries, including healthcare information technology, life sciences, technology and software, consumer products, food and beverage, and financial services.

In addition to his billable work, Kahn participates in various matters regarding veteran’s advocacy along with resolving tangled title real estate disputes in Philadelphia.

Prior to law school, Kahn served in the United States Marine Corps as a Forward Scout Observer in the artillery field.

• Represented commercial-stage biotech company developing iPSC-derived cell therapies in immune-oncology in its $242M initial public offering
• Represented medical marijuana dispensary in $80M acquisition by largest U.S. wholesaler of branded cannabis products
• Represented clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing small molecule therapeutics for degenerative diseases in its $45M initial public offering
• Represented public food conglomerate in $40M divestiture of baked goods portfolio company
• Represented specialty materials company in divestiture of epoxides unit for $39M
• Advised private equity firm in acquisition of portfolio company in the long-term care and specialty pharmacy space

Prior to joining Goodwin, Kahn worked as an associate at Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP.

While in law school at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Kahn worked as a student law counselor for the Clinic for Law and Entrepreneurship, where he advised a Philadelphia non-profit organization on organizational structure, compliance, and general business matters. He also served as the President of the Military and Veterans Law Society and the Chair of the Wills for Heroes program.
