Aaron Terwey is counsel in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Technology and Life Sciences groups. Aaron has over a decade of experience representing clients in corporate and securities matters, with a primary focus on advising companies in the technology and life sciences sectors throughout their life-cycle, including pre-incorporation planning, general corporate representation and counseling, venture capital financings, corporate governance, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has significant experience representing investors and venture capital firms in their investments into those innovative companies.
Born and raised in Austin, Aaron now calls Dallas home but makes regular trips to the Bay Area, Southern California, and Austin.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Aaron was an early employee and advisor at Atrium, a venture-backed legal tech startup and law firm in San Francisco, and managed the ECVC practice of a boutique law firm. Aaron began his career as an M&A attorney at Locke Lord LLP in Dallas.

Outside of Goodwin, Aaron served on the Board of Directors of Austin Montessori School for 6 years, including as the President (2021-2023), Vice President (2020-2021), and Secretary (2018-2020) and as a member of the Executive Committee (2018-2023), Risk Management Team (2021-2023), and Finance Committee (2018-2020).
