Indy Sohal is an associate in Goodwin’s Real Estate Industry department, and sits within the Private Investment Funds and Corporate Real Estate practice groups. Indy advises on the formation and operation of real estate funds, clubs and joint ventures, as well as secondary transactions, and structured corporate acquisitions and disposals involving real estate. Indy also advises real estate fund managers on transactions involving their management businesses, carried interest arrangements, restructurings, co-investments and exits.

- Advising Kennedy Wilson on its £1 billion programmatic joint venture with CPP Investments to invest in UK single-family housing assets
- Advising a real estate investment fund manager on the establishment of a new club fund to invest £1.5 billion in the build-to-rent sector*
- Advising a joint venture between a Canadian multinational real estate investment company and a fund advised by British property development company on raising £660 million of external funds for investment into a leading UK build-to-rent platform*
- Advising a global asset manager on a series of joint ventures with the investment arm of a Canadian state pension fund, focussed on property acquisition and development in relation to separate portfolios in Hoxton and Cambridge*
- Advising Orange Capital Partners in connection with the joint venture arrangements and acquisition of 89.9% of the corporate structure holding a German real estate portfolio valued at €422.5 million

- Advising BauMont Real Estate Capital on all capital raising mandates, including (i) both value-add, opportunistic products in its fund series, totaling commitments of c. €890 million and (ii) a separate account mandate with a Singaporean sovereign wealth fund focusing on core plus real estate assets in UK and France
- Advising PGIM Real Estate on the structuring and establishment of its pan-European core-plus strategies, together with related co-investments
- Advising Fiera Real Estate on the establishment of an open-ended, pan-European real estate debt fund
- Advising a joint venture between Kennedy Wilson and a Singaporean sovereign wealth fund on the corporate acquisition of a portfolio of eight UK industrial and logistics warehouses
- Advising a pan-European private equity real estate firm on the indirect disposal of a City of London office for £255 million*
- Advising a joint venture between FREP IV, Frogmore’s fourth value-add, opportunistic fund, and C1 Capital Partners on the corporate acquisition of Hilton Olympia, London for £130 million
- Advising a German-based fund manager on its c. £480 million acquisition of the corporate structure owning an office building in Aldgate, to be the future London headquarters for a British multinational telecommunications company*
- Advising a global asset manager on the disposal of a 25.5% stake in one of the UK’s largest supermarket portfolios for c. £115 million*
