Experience

  • Healthcare/Life Sciences Transactions – Advises health care providers, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and investors on a range of transactions, including strategic acquisitions, joint ventures, and services agreements, with a focus on health care regulatory structuring considerations, regulatory diligence, and post-acquisition compliance and risk management.
  • Healthcare/Life Sciences Regulatory Compliance – Counsels clients on complex regulatory issues, including those related to the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, Medicare and Medicaid participation and reimbursement requirements, corporate practice of medicine, and HIPAA.
  • Compliance Programs – Conducts independent compliance assessments for boards, c-suites, and investors in healthcare and life sciences companies, including conducting independent third-party compliance program reviews and risk assessments.
  • Government Enforcement – Defends healthcare/life sciences companies subject to healthcare fraud investigations by federal and state enforcement agencies and to False Claims Act litigation, conducts internal investigations of whistleblower and other compliance concerns.

Professional Experience

Before joining Goodwin, Dustin practiced at another international law firm as a healthcare attorney. Prior to law school, Dustin worked at the DC Department of Insurance and a national healthcare non-profit focusing on healthcare policy issues.
