Mary McQuinn is a partner in Goodwin’s Business Law department and a member of the firm’s Hospitality & Leisure, Joint Venture, and Real Estate Finance practices. With a focus on complex commercial real estate transactions, Mary advises institutional investors, real estate funds, private REITs, and hotel operators across a wide range of matters—including hospitality deals, joint venture formations, financings, developments, acquisitions, and dispositions.

Mary is known for her practical, business-minded approach and her ability to navigate sophisticated deal structures with clarity and precision. Her experience spans all stages of a project’s lifecycle, and clients value her deep industry knowledge, strategic insight, and collaborative style. While she has significant experience in the hospitality sector, Mary also maintains a strong and active practice across other asset classes within the joint venture and real estate finance space, allowing her to deliver tailored guidance across a variety of transaction types.

Since joining Goodwin in 2010, Mary has played a key role in helping clients structure and close high-value transactions that align with their broader business objectives.

  • A global hotel operator on corporate matters and the negotiation of management agreements for hotels, resorts, branded residential, and other hospitality assets across North America, the Caribbean, and Europe
  • Multiple nationally recognized development and real estate investment companies in the negotiation of hotel management agreements with leading global operators of luxury hotels
  • A global real estate investment company in the acquisition, development, investment, and financing of multifamily assets located in Massachusetts, Georgia, New Jersey, and California
  • A global real estate investment company on the development of a mixed-use project in New Jersey
  • A private REIT in the negotiation of a joint venture with a Chinese investor involving the sale of a 70% interest in a complex, multi-asset development in New York City
  • A global real estate investment company in connection with a loan modification related to the $100 million renovation of an office building in Boston, Massachusetts
  • A nationally recognized real estate investor on investments in boutique hotels and related management matters across North America
  • Various stakeholders on the structuring and implementation of governance frameworks for complex, mixed-use hospitality projects throughout North America and the Caribbean
  • Hotel owners and operators in negotiating food and beverage management agreements, as well as restaurant consulting and license agreements, with a range of management companies and celebrity chefs
  • Hotel owners and operators in negotiating subordination and non-disturbance agreements with lenders in connection with the acquisition, development, and permanent financing of hotel, resort, and branded residential projects across North America and the Caribbean
