Alexander Jobson is an associate in Goodwin’s Antitrust and Competition practice. Alexander advises on a wide range of competition law issues, including merger control, FDI and NSI filings and general competition and antitrust compliance.
Experience
Alexander has experience in a wide variety of competition law and merger control matters, including:
- Advising Viterra, a global marketer of agricultural commodities, in its acquisition of the grains and ingredients business of Gavilon from Marubeni Corporation for US$1.13bn*
- Advising One Equity Partners and Buckthorn Partners in their acquisition of Amey UK plc from Ferrovial*
- Advising Regal Rexnord on its US$4.95bn acquisition of Altra Industrial Motion*
Alexander has also gained experience advising on corporate aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including:
- Advising Westfield Corporation in its acquisition of the Lloyd’s of London operations of Argo Group International Holdings Ltd., including Argo’s Lloyd’s managing agency and Argo’s members supporting Syndicate 1200*

Professional Activities
Prior to joining Goodwin, Alexander was a trainee solicitor at Sidley Austin LLP where he gained experience in structured finance, antitrust and competition, M&A and private equity and international trade and sanctions.
