George is an associate in Goodwin’s Technology and Life Sciences groups in the firm’s London office. He trained at the firm and qualified into the team in September 2023. George advises clients on a broad range of matters at all stages of the corporate life cycle. He has particular experience advising on private equity and venture capital investments and exits, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings and reorganisations, as well as general corporate matters.

Experience

George’s representative experience includes advising:

  • Scalpel AI on its £3.8 million funding round led by Mercia Ventures. Scalpel AI is an AI platform for the surgical supply chain, enhancing productivity and reducing errors in surgical workflows by automatically identifying and classifying surgical inventory without tags
  • Myricx on its £90 million Series A financing, co-led by Novo Holdings and Abingworth
  • Otta, a job search platform that aims to help you find a new job that suits your preferences, goals and personality, on its sale to Welcome to the Jungle
  • Raspberry Pi on its strategic investment from an affiliate of Nasdaq listed Arm Holdings plc
  • Ducentis BioTherapeutics Ltd on its acquisition by Nasdaq listed Arcutis Biotherapeutics, Inc. for up to $400m, including upfront cash of $16 million and Arcutis stock valued at about $14 million, plus future contingent payments based on development and commercial success
  • Hoxton Farms on its $22 million Series A financing. The funding round was led by Collaborative Fund and Fine Structure Ventures. Hoxton Farms also received capital from Systemiq Capital, AgFunder, MCJ Collective, and previous investors Founders Fund, BACKED VC, Presight Capital, CPT Capital alongside Sustainable Food Ventures
  • An affiliate of ZQ Capital on its Mandatory Takeover Offer of Allergy Therapeutics plc and related financing
  • TowerBrook Capital Partners on its impact investment in TXO, a provider of telecom network hardware and asset management services
