Alexis Desautel is a litigation associate specializing in complex dispute resolution. Her comprehensive legal experience is rooted in rigorous academic and practical training, including her roles as a student attorney at the Federal Communications Commission in Commissioner Stark’s Office, Georgetown’s Health Justice Alliance Clinic, and the National Health Law Program. Alexis has conducted investigations of nationwide policy compliance, drafted complaints aligning with regulatory standards, and conducted detailed reviews of legislative regulatory histories nationwide.

Representative matters

  • Argued and won a favorable judgment for her client at the DC Housing Conditions Court
  • Conducted intensive research and contributed to a winning Supreme Court amicus brief for an immigration matter

Areas of Practice

Professional Activities

An active participant in legal organizations, Alexis has held roles in the Health Justice Alliance Clinic and served on ACE’s Legislative Working Group for the DC Council. Her leadership extends to Georgetown’s Women’s Legal Alliance, where she served as a 1L representative, as well as to the Native American Law Student Association and OutLaw, where she held the role of Public Sector Careers Chair. She was also a research assistant for Louis Michael Seidman for Constitutional Law, and assisted drafting Remapping Constitutional Theory. 

She completed a visiting scholar program at Oxford University in 2019 where she studied Philosophy of Jurisprudence and Business Administration. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Zambia, Africa where she completed field studies in Biodiversity and Cross-Cultural Leadership.
