Goodwin Recognized for Innovation in People & Skills and Named One of North America’s Most Innovative Law Firms by Financial Times

Goodwin has been recognized as one of the legal industry’s most innovative law firms in the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers North America 2024 Report.

Goodwin won the Innovation in People & Skills award for their work in successfully designing and implementing the First Year Development Program and the Client Immersion Program. Now in their second year, these programs represent a comprehensive framework for preparing the firm’s first year associates to best serve our clients and succeed at the firm.

The First Year Development Program and Client Immersion Program were created by a collaborative and cross-functional group of firm leaders. This includes Business Law Department co-chairs Joshua Klatzkin and Lynda Galligan, Chief Talent Officer and Assistant General Counsel for Employment, Heidi Goldstein Shepherd, and Managing Director, Learning & Professional Development, Caitlin Vaughn, as well as significant contributions from the firm’s Learning & Professional Development, Attorney Development, Legal Recruiting, Practice Management, and Innovation teams.

Goodwin was also shortlisted in the Most Innovative Law Firm category, and ranked among the top-10 firms in the Financial Times Law Firm Index. The Law Firm Index is a wholistic ranking of the most innovative law firms across North America based on the strength of firms’ legal innovations, digital maturity, commitment to pro bono, employee engagement programs, and financial success.

Each year, Financial Times uses extensive research and analysis to recognize the legal sector’s most innovative leaders, law firms, and corporate departments. Winners were honored at a ceremony in New York on December 9th.
