Cybersecurity partner Peter Marta is heading to Goodwin as it looks to expand its data and privacy offerings. Marta is joining the firm as a partner in its data, privacy and cybersecurity practice in New York, the firm announced Tuesday. Goodwin “has one of the longest standing cybersecurity practices of any Am Law 50 firm and it has a really a stellar reputation in this space,” Marta said in an interview. “I viewed it as a tremendous opportunity to join a leading practice and to help continue to build out a truly world class team,” he said. Cybersecurity ranks at the top of the list of overall risks and challenges facing organizations and affects “each and every client of Goodwin,” Marta said that he is looking forward to working with his new colleagues—which includes litigators, former federal prosecutors and in-house lawyers—and meeting Goodwin’s client base. “For those reasons, I’m super excited to join the Goodwin team."
