Goodwin has been named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by Disability:IN, a leading nonprofit organization for business disability inclusion. This is the first year the firm has received this recognition, which is based on performance in the Disability Equality Index, the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for Fortune 1000 scope companies to measure disability workplace inclusion inside their organization and to assess performance across industry sectors.
Now in its tenth year, the Disability Equality Index helps businesses make a positive impact on the unemployment and underemployment of people with disabilities, while also helping companies create long term value for employees and shareholders and mitigate risk from new legislative requirements.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion represents a Core Principle at Goodwin. Through the launch of recent initiatives such as the disability resource group, Goodwin has expanded its commitment to fostering inclusion across the firm. Goodwin also offers a variety of resources designed to support the disabled community, including closed captioning on videos and live Zoom programming, ALS interpreters at live programs, and inclusive fonts and colors for a variety of design projects.
The Disability Equality Index scores companies across five categories: culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community engagement, and supplier diversity. In 2024, 542 corporations, including 71 Fortune 100 and 220 Fortune 500, utilized the index to benchmark their disability inclusion efforts.
Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide. Their network of over 500 corporations expands opportunities for people with disabilities across enterprises.
