Goodwin’s M&A team advised Sheehan Family Companies on a recapitalization/sale transaction enabling certain long-time Sheehan family owners to achieve liquidity and diversify. The transaction was more than two years in the making and involved the sale of multiple craft beer distributors in New England and the mid-Atlantic and a recapitalization of SFC’s six Anheuser-Busch distributorships and significant related real estate holdings.
SFC is one of the largest beer distributors in the United States, first becoming an Anheuser-Busch distributor in the 1930’s and ultimately expanding to encompass distribution operations in 13 states.
The Goodwin team was led by Stuart Cable and Robert Whalen and included Eric Carlson, Brett Jackson, Kevin Smith and Amy Hedlund.
