Goodwin is expanding its finance team, announcing Tuesday that it is bringing in Leon Johnson, a Private Equity expert, as a partner in its San Francisco office. He focuses his practice primarily on growth equity transactions. In an interview Tuesday morning, Johnson told Law360 Pulse that he had long admired Goodwin's private equity practice. "Goodwin is particularly suited as a firm that is very strong in traditional buyout M&A, but also has a very deep bench for growth equity and emerging companies practice," Johnson said. "At Goodwin, I feel like I'm able to take the skill set that I have in terms of M&A and growth equity and be able to service my clients that are interested in doing those type of deals." Brian McPeake, co-chair of the firm's Private Equity practice, said, "Leon is a highly experienced private equity and growth equity lawyer who brings additional depth to our global, market-leading private equity practice."
