Law.com International’s Asia Legal Awards (ASLA) 2023 named partner Yash Rana International Law Firm Leader of the Year. The ASLA awards identify and honor those involved in the most important transactions and cases with the most complex and outstanding legal work in Asia. Rana was recognized for expanding the firm’s presence in Southeast Asia, the India practice, and for helping to launch Goodwin’s Singapore office.
Rana is a partner and co-chair of Goodwin’s Private Equity group and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. He founded and leads Goodwin’s Asia practice and Hong Kong office. He has been recognized as one of the preeminent M&A and private equity lawyers in Asia with deep expertise across sectors, including technology, media, telecom, services, consumer, life sciences, healthcare, and financial institutions.
In addition to his practice, Rana serves on the boards of several private equity-backed companies in Hong Kong, India, and Mauritius. He has a strong commitment to pro bono, with clients including the American Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the American Club Foundation, Mother’s Choice, and Save the Children.
Rana has also been recognized in Chambers Global and Chambers Asia publications consistently since 2012, the India Business Law Journal’s International A List, the China Business Law Journal’s A List of China’s Elite 50 Lawyers, IFLR1000, and was named M&A Lawyer of the Year by Global M&A Network. Goodwin’s Asia practice has also been widely recognized by Chambers and Legal 500 across a number of practice areas under Rana’s leadership, and the Asia Legal Awards named Goodwin the 2021 M&A Firm of the Year for Mid-Sized Deals.
The Asia Legal Awards celebrated Rana and the other 2023 winners during an awards ceremony in Singapore on March 30.
