Goodwin, the global law firm serving innovators and investors, today announced that regulatory partner Andrew Henderson will join its London office as the firm further strengthens its market-leading Private Investment Funds practice.
“At a time when the regulatory demands placed upon our clients are greater than ever before, we are focused on providing the highest quality advice and most comprehensive offering across multiple fund strategies in Europe, the U.S. and Asia,” said Michael Halford, co-chair of Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds practice. “We are delighted to bring in someone of Andrew’s experience, technical expertise and know-how.”
Henderson has over 20 years’ experience advising financial institutions, including asset and investment managers, as well as family offices and technology providers on financial services regulation and risk management. He also works closely with dispute resolution and investigations on regulatory processes and has been seconded to the Financial Services Authority and the Bank of England.
Henderson is the latest appointment to the practice, following the recent additions of Andrew Roeder (Boston) and Eunice Choi (San Francisco). Outside of the U.S., the practice also welcomed new laterals in the fourth quarter of 2021, as Goodwin continues to enhance its global private investment funds platform.
Goodwin’s approximately 200-lawyer Private Investment Funds practice supports over 500 investment managers raising capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. In the past 18 months, the practice closed more than 60 funds totaling over $200 billion in raised capital. The firm was recently named the top law firm for fund formation by Law360, the Legal 500 UK Awards, IJ Global, and SuperReturn Awards.
