Goodwin, the global law firm serving innovators and investors, today announced that Andrew Roeder joined the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice as a partner, resident in the Boston office.
“Drew’s extensive experience with fund formation and operations, particularly in the venture capital space, will be invaluable to our clients,” said Mandee Gruen, co-chair of Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds practice. “He adds meaningful depth to our strong global bench of venture capital and other funds lawyers as we continue to support clients in this dynamic market sector.”
Roeder counsels both established and emerging sponsors across a wide range of investment strategies, including venture capital, growth equity, private equity, and private credit, as well as assisting sponsors in connection with negotiating and launching separately managed accounts, alternative investment vehicles, co-investment funds, and other bespoke investment arrangements. His work ranges from advising established sponsors in connection with multi-billion-dollar global fundraising mandates to guiding emerging managers through all aspects of establishing their operations and raising capital.
Goodwin’s approximately 200-lawyer Private Investment Funds practice supports over 500 investment managers raising capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. In the past 18 months, the practice closed more than 60 funds totaling over $200 billion in raised capital. The firm was recently named the top law firm for fund formation by Law360, the Legal 500 UK Awards, IJ Global, and SuperReturn Awards.
