While legal tech salespeople may often have their eyes on the big prize, law firms may be looking to start a bit smaller these days. Anne Stemlar, managing director of Knowledge Management and Research at Goodwin, noted that licensing technology is often an expensive investment for a law firm. Stemlar added that while piecemeal type of arrangement may appeal to law firm leadership, some tech companies-particularly startups-may be reluctant to comply, with lot of emerging legal technology companies having a hard time understanding pricing.
