Goodwin and Investment Funds partner John M. Ferguson were recently honored at Autism Speaks’ 11th Annual Celebrity Chef Gala in New York. Ferguson was recognized for the extensive pro bono work he and Goodwin have done on behalf of the organization. Over the past seven years, more than 70 Goodwin attorneys and professional staff have devoted countless hours of service to Autism Speaks. This is Autism Speaks’ most successful event each year, having raised over $9 million in crucial funds for research, awareness and advocacy initiatives.
Ferguson and Goodwin’s work for Autism Speaks has included preparing the organization’s Individualized Education Program Guide (one of Autism Speaks’ core free toolkits) and negotiating corporate sponsorships and relationships, including with Google and the cloud-based MSSNG genome sequencing program (the world’s largest open-access genomic database for autism research).
