Yale Law Women (YLW) has named Goodwin to its 2016 Top Ten Family Friendly Firms List, which examines trends in family friendliness among law firms, draws attention to gender disparities within the legal profession, highlights progress being made in the industry and identifies areas for improvement.
Specifically, YLW recognizes those law firms that have demonstrated a dedication to developing and implementing family friendly practices and policies, including flex-time, part-time and childcare support.
Goodwin was also included in two Category Honors: Part Time & Flex Time and Gender Equity. For the former, YLW researched the part- and flex-time policies, including whether part/flex-time is allowed, who has access to it and percentage of part/flex-time users. They also examined if part/flex-time lawyers are given bonus consideration, compensated for working additional hours, and if they can be promoted to partner while working part-time. To determine the Gender Equity honored firms, YLW studied the percentage of women at the partner, associate and counsel levels.
