Goodwin Procter litigation partner Willy Jay was recently named a Law360 MVP. Jay joins an elite group of attorneys recognized by Law360 for their successes in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters.
Jay, head of litigation in Goodwin's Washington D.C. office and co-chair of the firm’s Appellate Litigation Practice, has argued 13 cases before the United States Supreme Court, including recent victories in Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. v. Sandoz Inc. and B&B Hardware Inc. v. Hargis Industries Inc. He has also handled cases in every U.S. Court of Appeals and in several trial courts, state appellate courts and administrative agencies.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Jay served for five years as Assistant to the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice. In that capacity, he handled Supreme Court and appellate matters for a wide variety of federal agencies, including every Cabinet Department and numerous executive and independent agencies.
