BOSTON, April 7, 2005 — Goodwin Procter LLP today announced that Lynne B. Barr has been recognized by the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section with the Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award for her dedication to the ABA and for her excellence as a financial services lawyer. Barr is a partner in the firm’s Financial Services Group and chair of its Consumer Financial Services Practice.
This award is presented annually to an exceptional women business lawyer and is intended to recognize a woman who has achieved professional excellence in her field and who has also demonstrated a dedication to the work of the ABA’s Business Law Section. In addition, the recipient must demonstrate an interest in advancing opportunities for other women in her profession.
Barr advises banks, bank holding companies, brokerage concerns, mortgage companies, trade associations and other entities on general corporate matters, including the operation and offering of their products and services, particularly in the context of federal and state regulation of financial institutions and their activities. She has extensive experience in credit and mortgage lending matters, fair lending and equal credit opportunity issues, credit and deposit services, electronic banking and Internet services, and insurance products. Barr received both her B.A. and J.D. from George Washington University.
