Goodwin offers a new and exciting opportunity for a mid-level corporate associate to join our award-winning Life Sciences team! You will join a dynamic practice that concentrates on corporate transactions for cutting-edge high growth, life sciences, healthcare and technology companies in the US, Asia, and throughout the world. This includes working with venture backed private and public companies through a range of transactions including equity financing, IPOs, M&A and corporate governance.
Goodwin represents leading public and private life sciences companies across their entire life cycles — including financings, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, collaborations and licensing, intellectual property and regulatory matters. In the past year, Goodwin has done over 36 biotech issuer and underwriter side offerings for a total of approximately $6 billion. Our public company representation remains robust and we currently represent over 200 public life sciences companies.
Goodwin is proud to be a seven-time winner of “Biotechnology Law Firm of the Year” by U.S. News - Best Lawyers and our life sciences practice holds the highest Band 1 (Nationwide) ranking in Chambers among other rankings. LMG Life Sciences 2023 named us Licensing and Collaboration Firm of the Year, as well as FDA Litigation and Enforcement Firm of the Year. The firm has over 250 life sciences-focused lawyers across all offices and is focused on growth in this area.
Candidates should have 3-5 years’ experience in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including seed and venture capital transactions, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private and public offerings of securities and SEC reporting. Experience working with life sciences companies preferred, but the group will also consider candidates who have only an interest in life sciences work (but not direct experience). Highly qualified candidates must have general experience both working in teams and in managing substantial components of transactions independently, along with outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
