The Attorney Development Manager will work closely with Life Sciences attorneys and science advisors to oversee cross-office staffing/work allocation, performance and utilization, and associate and science advisor retention strategies. The ideal candidate will have a background in professional development within a law firm or similar environment and a passion for fostering attorney growth and development. The position also partners with Human Resources, and the Diversity/Equity/Inclusion and Learning + Professional Development teams to ensure a positive and inclusive employee experience as it relates to training, development, coaching, integration and onboarding, retention, performance management and career transitioning.
Qualifications and requirements include:
- Juris Doctor required. Knowledge of the life sciences industry a plus.
- 5+ years of related experience, preferably in an AMLAW25 law firm environment.
- Equivalent legal staffing/workforce planning/attorney development experience in another legal or professional services environment preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Consistently shows sound judgment and respects, protects, and maintains highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to demonstrate effective creative problem solving and people and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel with the ability to learn additional programs.
- Minimal travel.
- Office environment; hybrid work arrangement.
Target Salary Range: $170,000 - $185,000
