Dane Patterson, a partner in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Technology & Life Sciences group, specializes in all areas of corporate and securities laws, with a primary focus on advising emerging-growth technology companies and venture capital firms. He advises founders, emerging growth companies and venture capital firms on various transactional matters, including company formations, venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and various secondary transactions.
Dane joined Goodwin in 2014 and serves as the Hiring Partner for Goodwin's Silicon Valley office.
In recognition of his work, Dane has been selected as a leading attorney in his field by Super Lawyers, which has named him a “Rising Star” of Northern California and included him on its “Ones to Watch” list.
While in law school, Dane received CALI Awards for the top grade in Venture Capital, Business Associations, Commercial Contract Writing, Federal Income Tax, and Criminal Law. He also served as an editor of the Hastings Law Journal and was elected as a member of the Thurston Society.
