Charlotte Haywood is a partner in Goodwin’s Tax practice and a member of the Private Investment Funds group. Charlotte’s practice focuses on the domestic and international tax aspects of structuring private investment funds across a range of asset classes, including private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, fund of funds and multi-asset.
Charlotte advises clients on fund formation, as well as various related transactions such as secondaries and GP-led restructurings. Charlotte also represents a wide range of investors, including financial institutions, sovereigns and wealth management groups, in negotiating and structuring their investments into fund products.
In addition, Charlotte counsels multijurisdictional fund management teams on executive incentivization arrangements and in particular has extensive experience advising on a range of personal UK tax matters.
Prior to joining Goodwin in 2017, Charlotte was an associate at King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin).Experience
Charlotte's representation of fund clients spans different asset classes, geographies and fund sizes. Her recent representations include:
- Kreos Capital, leading venture and growth debt provider in Europe and Israel, on its acquisition by one of the world’s preeminent asset management firms
- Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on raising more than €1.6 billion for investment in renewable energy with the final close of Macquarie Green Investment Group Renewable Energy Fund 2
- Abingworth on the formation of its latest transatlantic venture life sciences fund, Abingworth Bioventures 8, which closed at $465 million.
- Novastar Ventures on the structuring and fundraising of Novastar Ventures Africa Fund II, raising $108 million.
